The character of Batman is a dark and brooding presence. The Goth-Father of Comics. There were a few elements attached to some of the other crime fighters that had a Gothic slant; 'Ghost Rider', 'The Phantom' and even Will Eisner's 'The Spirit' had certain attributes but Batman is the closest to being truly 'Gothic'.these are just a few of many, many more. He is a worthy opponent of Batman and is extremely unpredictable and dangerous. Who is the rightful queen of that part is debatable. The main score to the movie was even performed by Gothic legends 'Siouxsie and the Banshees'. Batman Out of all of the characters to create misery for Batman he must take first place. and on it was a symbol.. Regular visitors to the club included such people as Siouxsie Sioux, Steve Severin, Robert Smith and Nick Cave. First up is, of course, The Joker. He sees himself as a 'higher being' but he is also very much of an outcast. His suit gives him superhuman strength and he uses weapons of his own invention that harness cold in destructive ways. Batman But isn't it a bit of a coincidence that the nightclub was named after Batman's actual hang-out? (So to speak. Jack Nicholson did a great job of playing the character in 1989's 'Batman' but it has to be said that the late Heath Ledger probably bettered him if only for the dark and downright disturbing edge that he brought to the role in 2008's 'The Dark Knight'.
C. And remember. The bat-like cape and the mask with pointed ears could quite easily have been adopted by the frontman of a Gothic band without any problem from fans. 'Is this movie for kids or for adults?' asked the media. He is a mad scientist who just so happens to have a great understanding of cryonics. Batman Where There Are Bats There is Goth. In 1995 Jim Carrey became The Riddler for 'Batman Forever'. In 1997's 'Batman and Robin' he was played by the well cast Arnold Schwarzenegger. And before 'Donnie Darko' and the like the world of film had already worn the t-shirt. While we are on the subject of that movie there is also Catwoman to mention. In 1992 he released 'Batman Returns' which took the Gothic feel several steps further.. Batman As the name suggests, it is a dark place that is full of shadowy alleyways and sinister, maniacal foes. The Joker, name aside, is not to be taken lightly. Even the Bat-symbol can quite often be seen emblazoned on black t-shirts worn by even the most die-hard Goths. With his long, beak-like nose and squat body he is a rather repulsive character.
Instead of listing all of his adversaries to date (most of whom few of us would ever have heard of) it would probably be more interesting to mention the most dangerous and infamous. The club was called 'The Batcave'.A place where the manholes steam and the 'Dark Knight' patrols silently, hesitating only amongst the shadows and fog. Batman In July 1982, Soho, London the first Gothic nightclub opened its doors to a darkly attired and Patchouli anointed youth.. Then there is the city that is such an integral backdrop of most of the Batman stories; - 'Gotham'. Like any other respectable superhero, Batman has had his fair share of enemies. Who could forget Michelle Pfeiffer's sexy slant on the P.. This was the darkest addition to the Batman franchise to date and it went down a storm. Batman . Next up is The Penguin, so named because of his appearance and its similarity to the Antarctic bird. Think Edgar Allen Poe, Bram Stoker, Vampira and even Yvonne de Carlo from 'The Munsters'. So, long before Neil Gaiman's 'Death' there was already a Gothic hero.) A Dark and Mysterious Wonderland. So, as you can see, Batman has his work cut out.
V. Batman It has subtly changed over the.
